Introducing the SBRN
The Scottish Bioinformatics Research Network (SBRN) was established in 2005 to foster the development of Bioinformatics research in Scotland.
The partners in SBRN include the Universities of Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow as well as the Scottish Agricultural Biology Research Institutes (SABRIs).
An important aim of the SBRN is to reach all potential researchers and users of bioinformatics in Scotland whether in academia or industry and irrespective of whether they interact with the core SBRN academic partners. For this reason, a key component of SBRN is the Scottish Bioinformatics Forum (SBForum), an outreach organisation that is developing information, training and networking resources for bioinformatics across Scotland.
Where is SBRN?
The academic core of the SBRN is listed below. Please see the partner web sites for contact details and further information about their activities.
The Bioinformatics Research Group at the University of Dundee.
The Edinburgh Centre for Bioinformatics.
The Bioinformatics Research Centre at the University of Glasgow.
The Scottish Crop Research Institute.
In addition, SBRN includes the Scottish Bioinformatics Forum which has its main office in Edinburgh.
